This is a comprehensive set of disc burning tools with support for all types of CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs. By using BurnAware Free, you can create data CDs and Blu-ray discs, audio and MP3 CDs, video DVDs, and more. Besides, the program offers you additional possibilities, like creating image files of your discs (i.e., ISO files) or burning your existing ISO files into blank discs.
The program's main interface is a simple window that shows shortcuts to all the tools available. In other words, this window acts as a main menu. The shortcuts provided are classified into four sections: Data, Multimedia, Disc images, and Utilities. When you click on a shortcut, the corresponding tool runs on a separate window. Besides data CDs and Blu-ray discs, the Data section also allows you to create bootable and custom discs. These options will come in handy to all advanced users.
The Multimedia section simply allows you to create audio CDs, MP3 discs, and video DVDs. The Disc Image section, on the other hand, provides you with tools to create ISO files from your discs ─ or directly from your file system ─, create bootable ISO files, and burn ISO files to blank discs. As for the Utilities section, it includes special tools to erase re-writable discs (either using the quick or the complete method), display the disc info, and verify the disc for errors.
It is worth mentioning that all the tools provided (14 in total) come with a file navigator, allow you to select the kind of disc you want to create, your preferred burning drive, and the destination file system, when appropriate. However, this program also has an important lack ─ it does not allow you to perform direct disc copy. However, this problem is exclusive to the free edition of the program, as the premium and professional versions do allow disc copy.
In general terms, I would recommend to everybody giving this disc burning program a try, unless you require it to perform direct disc copy.
