When it comes to burning CD, DVD or Blu-ray discs, there's a myriad of tools available on the software market. However, finding the one that is comprehensive, easy to use and free may be a real challenge. BurnAware Free is a CD-burning tool that easily meet all that criteria. It allows you to create all kinds of CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs in a very easy and intuitive way.
The program is lightweight, totally clean and installs in seconds. Despite being a free tool, it doesn't include any type of adware, spyware or annoying banners. The program user interface allows you to select among 14 disc-burning and related tools, which are grouped into 4 categories - Data, Multimedia, Disc Images and Utilities. Using those tools you can create simple or bootable data discs, audio CDs, MP3 discs, video DVDs and BDMV/AVCHD DVDs or Blu-ray discs. Besides, BurnAware Free also provides you all the tools you may require to work with ISO image files. You can create an ISO image from an existing disc - or directly from your filesystem-, create a boot ISO image, or burn an ISO or a CUE/BIN image file back into a blank disc. Finally, the program also includes tools to erase re-writable discs, extract and display a disc's info, and verify a disc's contents for errors.
As I told before, all the tools BurnAware Free includes are really simple and easy to use. By the way, every one runs on its own window and allows you to provide all the required parameters. For example, to burn a data CD, you can select the burning drive and speed, the disc's filesystem (UDF, ISO or ISO + UDF), the disc's name, create/remove folders and add your source files. Finally, one of the most interesting features of BurnAware Free is the so-called "Span Disc" tool, which allows you to burn a large amount of information across multiple discs. This feature is rarely found on other disc-burning tools.
In conclusion, I would say that BurnAware Free is one of the best disc-burning applications you can find for free. The only feature this program doesn't include is a direct disc-to-disc copy tool. Given that this is a free program, you can use it for non-commercial purposes only.
